SONG OF THE WEEK

A new feature where we will post a new song from some singer we like. The song doesn't have to be new to be featured, so we might dip into the wayback machine and pull up something from years ago. We know we haven't been posting on any sort of regular schedule lately and we are sorry for that and hope that by creating a feature that has "of the Week" in the title it will make us at least post once a week.

The first Song of the Week is from Amanda Shaw and is the title cut from her latest album Pretty Runs Out. Amanda is a resident of Louisiana and has been playing the fiddle since she was four years old. She just recently turned eighteen. She is an annual presence at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.

what a cool concept for a blog! That's what I love about the blogsphere--that whole chain of events that seem to ripple when contact is made. Found you on Castra Praetoria, where you had popped in from Ann's blog which is who I told about the blog's launch...lol clear as mud? heehee anyway going to go listen to some of these songs and see what's out there...I am so guilty of just listening to the mainstream and not taking the time to look for stuf off the beaten track. lol

Thanks again for welcoming, Mike. It was cool of you.
