1. For many artists, they cite a defining moment for themselves when they knew they wanted to be a singer. For many it was the appearance of Elvis on the Ed Sullivan show, to another generation it was the Beatles’ appearance on Sullivan half a decade later. Is there such a defining moment for you?
I guess the defining moment for me was when I was my first year in college and entered into a talent competition. Until then,
I had never played my songs for anyone, but I performed the song I wrote in front of several hundred people and ended one

I guess the defining moment for me was when I was my first year in college and entered into a talent competition. Until then,
I had never played my songs for anyone, but I performed the song I wrote in front of several hundred people and ended one
winning the first prize. That was the beginning of my career :) And then the next day, I got a few emails from students
and faculty saying how much my song moved them, a couple of them even had tears (it was a sad song)... I never thought
about my music touching others, because I always wrote for myself.. But those 2 days, I was so inspired by the reaction
of people to my song, that I decided to pursue music. Hope this answer makes sense:)
2. When you’re not creating music what are you listening to? Who are some of your favorites?
I still love the Beatles. My favorite. And I have lots of songs from hundreds of artists on my iPod, and I
love to put it on shuffle. Anything from Willie Nelson to Rob Zombie to Howard Jones to Russian pop to Tori Amos to.... you name it:)
3. What would you say is your greatest moment so far as an artist, either on record or live?
I still hope for the greatest moment yet to come, but I've had so many amazing moments on stage
where I just felt elated... One very fun one was performing on the stage at the Kodak Theatre
and being in the dressing rooms. I was thinking - wow, every Oscar-nominated actor within last few
years has walked on this floor and sat in these green rooms... It was fun:)
4. Do you believe music can change the world or is just something to listen to? How much can music influence current events?
I think music has the power to move people in different ways. So yes, changing the world too. Why not?
Artists throughout centuries have been at the forefront of big social and political movements, and I think it's exciting!
I'm trying to make my little difference too (with my song and music video for "HOPE", for example).

5. How has technology affected the music industry? How has technology affected your career as a musician?
I love the internet and the ability to connect to so many people. and I love being able to quickly find the song you want
on iTunes or elsewhere. I think it's a great benefit for musicians!
6. Now for my Barbara Walters question: If you were a pair of shoes what type of shoes would you be?
I would be elegant yet sturdy fake-leather black boots:)
