This week:
SAVIO REGO
and
BOBBY JOE OWENS
of RETRO DELUXE BLUES BAND
sit on
THE COUCH

Both of our guests had no choice
but to be drawn into the music business.

savio
Singer-Songwriter Savio Rego was born in Bombay, India and raised in San Jose, California. Having left behind a successful career in banking, this Californian singer-songwriter has gone back to his first love – music.

Savio started playing guitar at the age of 13. As a self-taught guitarist, his playing evolved over the years. His debut "All I Want" is the perfect example of a record made by someone who does not see music defined by rigid genres.

I will talk to Savio about his journey and his plans for the next year.  Of course, we get to hear music from "All I Want".

Then we welcome Bobby Joe Owens, frontman for the blues band Retro Deluxe. Bobby Jo and I have been communicating back and forth the last 9 - 10 months and he has also sent me some tastes of their newest album as it was being recorded.

Now the album, "Watermelon Tea" containing 16 new songs is set for release and Bobby Joe is bringing his new music to The Couch!.

How did a Maryland boy end up making a blues record in Mississippi? What is next on the horizon for he and his band? Bobby Joe and I will have fun talking and listening to new music.

We will take your calls and questions for both guests at 1.347.633.9400

The live interactive chat room opens 20 minutes before show time. Follow this link HERE and click on the Chat Now icon.
