Description: André d’Almeida is a story teller and an autobiographer with very catchy verses and vocals that are powerful, yet tender at the same time. His pop-folk upbeat is wild only to be smoothened by the serenity of his stories.
Biography: André d’Almeida is the oldest of 9 children. He is a Portuguese pop/folk singer and songwriter based in New York. He finished his degree in Holland and spent 4 years in China and South-East Asia. In 2005 he moved to Colorado for his PhD and in 2007 to New York to continue developing and sharing his music. His debut CD, “Mares da China”, was recorded in London and released in Portugal in 2002. His first show was in New York in 2007. In 2008, he reached the final of the American OS band contest and later that year he had single “Espiritos da Montanha” featured in the North American CD compilation, “Chill Out”. In 2009, Nightlife Productions signed him to record with the multi-platinum producer, Sean Gill. Now with his PhD concluded, André is focusing on studio rehearsing his new repertoire. Summer of 2011 he will be back on the road with his new band. André d’Almeida is a story teller and an autobiographer. He writes as a reflection of himself with optimism while always looking for the meaning of things in his life.
