Sandy Carroll
Sandy Carroll is a native Memphian who has played everywhere and with everyone. Her music has been recorded by the likes of Luther Allison, Albert King, Don McMinn and Reba Russell among others.
This woman is a wealth of talent and is continuing to impress any and all who see her perform.
Her latest release Just As I Am is scheduled for release on October 18th, the day after she sits on The Couch. It is a collection of tunes written or co-written by Carroll and the title track was co-written by Carroll, James Solberg and Luther Allison and originally recorded by the late, legendary blues guitarist on hisReckless album.
This will be a fun interview with Sandy and we get to play the album before its release!

A few years back, Nashville tugged at Shane and very quickly he gained a reputation as a superb guitar player.
His latest album, A Hundred White Lies was written during the time his marriage was ending and 11 of the 12 songs are originals that come from the dark place of Shane's life at the time. It was recorded with the help of Delbert McClinton's touring band and is something special to hear.
We will get to chat with Shane about his life, where he is heading and what he is seeking on this journey. All that and tuneage from his album.

Artist Spotlight
Paul Thorn
From the bithplace of Elvis, Tupelo, MS come the talented Paul Thorn. Thorn has rambled down back roads and jumped out of airplanes, worked for years in a furniture factory, battled four-time world champion boxer Roberto Durán on national television, signed with and been dropped by a major label, opened for Bonnie Raitt, Mark Knopfler, and John Prine among many other headliners, and made some of the most emotionally restless yet fully accessible music of our time. Writingfrom his life and lessons learned, Thorn's live performances are a combination of hot blues and rollicking stories. His lastest album, Pimps & Preachers is a collection of stories set to brilliant music. Paul sat with me on The Couch and it was a totally enjoyable experiance.
