Simply Six: Imari Tones

1. For many artists, they cite a defining moment for themselves when they knew they wanted to be a singer.  For many it was the appearance of Elvis on the Ed Sullivan show, to another generation it was the Beatles’ appearance on Sullivan half a decade later.  Is there such a defining moment for you?
I saw Van Halen concert video playing at a shopping mall in my neighborhood when I was 15.

2. When you’re not creating music what are you listening to?  Who are some of your favorites?
New york based indie band +/-{plus/minus} is my latest favorite band. UK glam rock band Suede (London Suede) is also my long time favorite. Other than that, mostly I listen to Jimi Hendrix. If you want some Japanese rock, I recommend Bloodthisry Butchers.

3. What would you say is your greatest moment so far as an artist, either on record or live?
I can tell you some great moments, such as, recording in Germany, touring in USA, and making our latest record "Victory In Christ".

4.  Do you believe music can change the world or is just something to listen to?   How much can music influence current events?
Believe it or not, I am the kind of people who believe music can change everything. Everybody has his/her own taste but everybody loves music. And love guides people to the truth.

5. How has technology affected the music industry?  How has technology affected your career as a musician?
Now everybody has a power and nobody really has a power big enough to controll everything. As an independent musician, technology made everything possible....and you can struggle as much as you want.

6.  Now for my Barbara Walters question:  If you were a pair of shoes what type of shoes would you be?
Rain boots

Answerd by Tone, singer&guitar player of the band.
