Come Sit On The Couch With Musicians You Should Know THIS WEEK: Karen Lovely & Robbie Laws Sit On The Couch Karen Lovely Karen Lovely started singing the blues professionally in September 2007and released her debut record Lucky Girl in November 2008 Since then, she & her band have delivered stand out performances that have garnered awards, critical acclaim and standing ovations at festivals and venues throughout the US and Canada She placed 2nd in the 2010 International Blues Challenge, and in 2011 she was nominated for Blues Music Awards for Best Contemporary Blues Female Artist, Best Contemporary Blues Album - Still The Rain and Best Song - "Still The Rain" I am thrilled to be presenting Ms. Lovely to y'all and learning more about this dynamic singer while listening to the music that is making everyone listen. Robbie Laws Then Robbie Laws takes his seat on The Couch. Robbie Laws is one of the most decorated and in demand blues guitarists in thePacific Northwest. He has been honored with 18 PortlandCascade Blues Association Muddy Awards, eight of which were for ‘Best Electric Guitarist",  the ‘Best Blues Act 2010' award from the Seattle basedWashington Blues Society and most recently, the 'Outstanding Achievement in Blues' award from the Portland Music Association in 2011. I get to sit with Robbie and learn more about his musical journey while we play cuts from his albums.
