| Biography: Biography – Sons of Edison The Sons of Edison brought new light to the Southern California music scene with their electrically charged self-titled first release. Now the Sons of Edison have released their second CD, “Strikes Again.” A collection of original songs masterfully performed and recorded by San Diego’s own Michael Casinelli and Richard "Blitz" Livoni. Sons of Edison once again prove their mettle with their recent release of kickass, but honest and heartfelt tunes that tell of life’s lessons in love, courage, and the rocky road of rock ‘n roll relationships. One of San Diego’s most eminent and well-respected rebel sons, Michael plays killer keyboards, synth, percussion, and performs background vocals. He has collaborated with many Southern California players over the years, combining his classic rock ‘n roll style with reflective lyrics and harmonic soul. A past president of the San Diego Songwriter’s Guild, Michael is a prolific writer, musical entrepreneur, and a rocker by heart, whose musical expertise and creativity adds electricity to the sound of the Sons of Edison. Michael has co-authored every song with Richard, and it is through their friendship and musical collaboration, they have produced two exceptional CDs that showcase their diverse musical talents. Richard’s roots go deep into the West Coast music scene. He began playing guitar at the age of eight and continued through college, eventually opening for the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Hoyt Axton, Tim Buckley, Jackson Browne, Linda Rondstadt and others. Richard "Blitz" has ripped up the stages for years as the founding member of The Blitz Brothers, and gained a legendary reputation as one of Southern California’s greatest guitar players. He has shared the stages with Jeff Beck, Cheap Trick, Def Leppard, Robin Trower, Judas Priest, Johnny Winter, Elvin Bishop and Paul Butterfield, just to name a few. In addition to playing stadium gigs and major Southern California nightclubs, he has toured the West Coast, Southwest U.S., and Texas. Richard plays guitar, bass, drums, and performs lead vocals. He engineered the Sons’ CD, and co-produced the release with Michael. When not playing, Richard owns and operates Blitz Recording Studio in San Diego. The Sons of Edison have had several songs placed on compilation CDs, both on Sun Spot Records released in the U.S. and SNAPP Records released in Europe; and R&B artist Chaz Weseley covered one of their songs, “Last to Know,” on his CD called "Between Us", on Sweet Tone Records. In addition, the Sons of Edison have had several of their songs played on radio, have caught the attention of media professionals, and their songs have received consideration for use by the TV, motion picture, and recording industries. The Sons of Edison CD is available at CDBaby.com, iTunes, as well as several other digital download web sites. Give them a listen. Release: For Immediate Release Contact: Michael Casinelli sons@sonsofedison.com "VIRTUAL" BAND IS THE REAL DEAL The Sons of Edison describe themselves as a "virtual" band, but their passion for the power of the classic rock style, in a fresh setting, is very, very real. In fact, they're a San Diego-based duo; keyboardist/percussionist/background vocalist/songwriter Michael Casinelli and guitarist/bassist/vocalist/songwriter Richard Livoni. In addition, Livoni is a master of the studio, as the proprietor of San Diego's Blitz Recording Studio, spearheading the production and engineering chores on their latest CD album, “Strikes Again.” That's no small task for an album that was created largely through the magic of multi-tracking. While there are two tracks that feature additional performers, everything heard on the album comes from the duo. The songs of Sons of Edison are garnering attention from national acts and soundtrack producers, but there's no reason to wait for the cover versions. The album, fourteen tracks of classic rock energy with a contemporary edge, is available now, with national distribution through CDBaby.com and iTunes. They may be a "virtual band," but they're the real deal. For more information, please visit http://www.sonsofedison.com |
