French Quarter Fest 2012

Sadly I was only able to make it to one day of the fours days of French Quarter Fest this year.  But the one day I made was a good one.  This year they are expecting 500,000 people to attend the Festival.  Growing from a small effort to get more people to head into the Quarter before the almighty Jazz Fest started this thing has grown into something that rivals the Jazz and Heritage Festival.  To me its more important because it features all home grown talent.  I've aired by complaints about the "Big" talent that the Jazz Fest seems to feel it has to bring in every year, more of them every year, seemingly driving out the smaller and more local acts.  Don't get me wrong I still love Jazz Fest, but I think I love French Quarter Fest more.
