Biography: Kim Lyons is a singer/songwriter who has been performing publicly for the past 10 years.  It began by playing at songwriting venues and she eventually hosted a weekly songwriter’s night in Bristol, Virginia.  This experience became a networking opportunity for her.  In 2010, she met keyboard player, David James, and they have been performing together ever since. In May 2011, Kim Lyons released “Kim Lyons Live”.  Her single “Hometown” is very personal to her.  When she was a teenager her family fled their hometown for reasons unknown to her. She returned to her hometown to attend a reunion and found out that she always had what she thought she lost.  This realization was a profound moment in her life.    This song is dedicated to all her childhood friends who never lost sight of what she meant to them.   This story is told with emotion and sensitivity.  The flow of her guitar playing and her voice were meant to sooth and to provoke thoughts and other sensations.  The flow, the smoothness of her music is refreshing to hear. Kim Lyons brings you heartfelt songs that have a lot of meaning to her and her fans enjoy every moment.   The simple yet very effective use of voice and guitar brings drama and intensity to her music.   Kim Lyons performed at the Anchorage, Alaska Relay for Life last year.  They asked that she kick off the event with her song “Real Men Wear Pink” which she wrote as a fundraiser for breast cancer.  She has also played at the Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion for several years.  She played at the Blue Plate Special out of Knoxville, Tennessee, a few years ago which was a great honor for her.   Kim Lyons’ biggest inspiration is her husband Rick who continues to support, encourage and inspire her.
