Simply Six: Bree Rose

1. For many artists, they cite a defining moment for themselves when they knew they wanted to be a singer. For many it was the appearance of Elvis on the Ed Sullivan show, to another generation it was the Beatles’ appearance on Sullivan half a decade later. Is there such a defining moment for you?

I knew I wanted to be a singer after listening to Amy Lee from Evanescence sing My Immortal. She is the reason i started.

2. When you’re not creating music what are you listening to? Who are some of your favorites?

I enjoy every genre of music, there are so many talented musicians out there but my favorite right now is Katy Perry.

3. What would you say is your greatest moment so far as an artist, either on record or live?

My greatest moment so far as an artist is performing in front of 8,000 people at Six Flags Great Adventure with my band, The New Royalty.

4. Do you believe music can change the world or is just something to listen to? How much can music influence current events?

I do believe music can change not only the world but our future too. Music influences fashion, personalities, friends, families and can sometimes change opinions just through the lyrics of popular artist's.

5. How has technology affected the music industry? How has technology affected your career as a musician?

Technology has benefited the music industry but also hurt it. Music is so easily stolen yet so easily found and promoted. I feel technology can only help an artist like me grow and expand making new fans and help me develop my future.

6. Now for my Barbara Walters question: If you were a pair of shoes what type of shoes would you be?
I would be a pair of dr martens boots. Ive been through a lot and have worked hard to accomplish what I have and continue what I love. I can be sensitive like any other girl, but I'm tough and It's going to take a lot to break me down. I'm ready for everything and i know I'll be able to handle anything my future.
