Coming Up On Music on the Couch

TALL CITY BLUES FEST


Held in downtown Midland, TX on Centennial Plaza and celebrating its THIRD Year, this festival is growing in size and importance every year.
The Festival is an outdoor music festival with multiple stages:
Tall City Blues Fest showcases award-winning and emerging talent, introduces new opportunities into the community, offers a culturally diverse attraction in West Texas, contributes positively to the quality of life and creates tourism. Click here to read more about TCBF Philanthropy.

*Educational Clinics are in partnership with Midland College and registration proceeds go toward providingscholarships for KIDS’ College.

The festival is the brainchild of Lisa Arnold Grissom & Ronn Reeger of Promising Projects and Music On The Couch is honored to be invited as a part of the festival.

I will be set up in the Lobby of the Doubletree Hotel speaking with artists, organizers and THE FANS on both Friday and Saturday.

JT Coldfire's virtuosity as a singer/songwriter/guitarist/producer has garnered praise as one of the unsung heroes of the new crop of Austin blues artists. He has played professionally for over 17 of his 33 years from Texas to New York and across the pond in Europe.

MIKE MILLIGAN

Mike Milligan and The Altar Boyzare Austin's favorite R & B/ Blues Band.  Their songs range from get down gut bucket blues to heart string torch ballads, great shuffles and upbeat funk grooves that rocks your shoes. It's "Texas Blues with a Louisiana Attitude" 

PETERSON BROTHERS

The Peterson Brotherswere born and raised deep in the "Lost Pines" of Bastrop, Texas. Alex, 14, on bass, violin and vocals, and Glenn Jr.16 on guitar and lead vocals. Their music combines the classic blues sounds of legends with their own unique blend of soul-infused inspiration.




FRANK GOMEZ

Frank Gomez, the guitar-slinging powerhouse was raised performing on military bases on both sides of the Atlantic but since the 70's has called Austin, Texas home. It was those years on the road that developed Gomez into the highly respected, multi-dimensional artist that he is today. 

KIRSTEN THIEN

Kirsten Thien’s soulful delivery of her insightful and sensual songs has earned her regular radio chart positions along with international press and radio airplay. Thien has carved out her own unique Contemporary Blues sound that travels the highway between Chicago in 1955, Memphis in 1969, and present-day New York City.

Chris Duarteplays a style of Texas blues-rock that draws on elements of jazz, blues, and rock and roll. In 1995, Chris finished fourth in the Guitar Player Magazine's "Best Blues Guitarist" category behind Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy and B.B. King.

Brad Absher & Swamp Royale'smusical bedrock is a mellow blues-rock style associated with his hometown of Tulsa, Okla. With 5 albums under their belts, they continue to win over fans wherever they play.

Zac Harmon is a true disciple of the music that emanated from Jackson, MS (his hometown) historic Farish Street district, universally recognized as the home of such great blues legends like the late, great Elmore James.

 is an American Chicago and electric blues musician. He has released nine albums to date, all on his own Blue Bella Records label. He is a 16-time BMA nominee.
